On this dreary Sunday afternoon in Chicago, I'm happy to share such a lively and colorful wedding. Purple is the name of the game today (and happens to be one of my favorite colors as well). Everyone, let's take a look at Erica and Robert's country winery wedding, photographed by Anna Wu.
I was fortunate enough to get the inside scoop from the bride herself: "In the beginning, I really didn't choose a particular theme or style. It began with wanting to see the big, bold tangerine color that I associated with Robert's personality, matched with a deep plum color that I associated with mine. We are both really romantic and we live in Wine Country, so we wanted to celebrate and convey the romance we share with all of our guests, with lots of fresh flowers of the season, curly willow, candles, good food and fabulous wine set in the Dunfillan ruins of Kunde Family Estate winery surrounded by a beautiful meadow, acres of vineyards, and majestic oak trees. "
Erica wore a lovely dress by Venus.
Erica took on a lot of DIY projects including making her own place cards out of corks (perfect for a winery wedding!). For the table names, she created Mexican "loteria" cards for the seating chart, placed a tangerine at each place setting with the guest's name attached with a crystal push pin and illuminated the reception with bistro lights, paper lanterns and par lights.
Flip flops were also provided by the dance floor in case the ladies needed to kick off their heels.
Thank you, Erica and Robert! And be sure to check out more of Anna's work by visiting her blog.
Stay tuned later today for another beautiful (and colorful) real wedding feature!
